Today, the Ufa airport, through which almost 3 million passengers pass through the year, is among the top ten leading airports in Russia. The route network of "Ufa" includes more than 70 destinations, including 33 Russian cities.
.Ufa International Airport is located 25 km from the city in the south-west. It was opened in late 1962 to replace the old airfield, which was located in the city limits. For half a century, he experienced several large-scale reconstructions and turned into a developed aviation complex capable of receiving aircraft of all types.
.In 2015, the industry agency AviaPort awarded Ufa airport four stars out of five possible for the quality of terminal infrastructure and passenger services. In 2016, he received the title “Airport of the Year” at the Wings of Russia-2015 award, and in 2018, for the third time in a row, he was recognized as the best among airports with a passenger traffic of up to 4 million people a year at the Air Gate of Russia award.
.More than 40 Russian and foreign airlines operate flights from Ufa Airport, including representatives of three major aviation alliances - SkyTeam, Star Alliance and Oneworld. Most often, you can find aircraft of UTair, Yamal, Aeroflot and S7 Airlines.
.In 1994, the Ufa airport received international status. In addition to charter flights, there are quite a few regular flights in the schedule - for example, to Dubai, Antalya, Prague. The main winter destinations are Phuket, Bangkok, Goa, Kamran, Khujand and Dushanbe. In summer, tourists are actively flying to Barcelona, to the resorts of Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Georgia and Tunisia.
.In 2017, the airport received 2.8 million passengers, and in 2018 it plans to break this record and break the 3 million bar. Flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tashkent, and also to the northern regions, where people work on a rotational basis, are especially popular throughout the year.
.The airport of the capital of Bashkortostan is one of the few for which the IATA code completely coincides with the name of the city in both Latin (UFA) and Cyrillic notation (UFA).
.The length of the runway airport is 3.7 km. It was built in the 1980s as a backup for the landing of the Buran missile-plane. This reinforced cement concrete runway was reopened in 2016 after a major overhaul. Now it is capable of accepting unrestricted An-124 Ruslan and long-range Boeing 747 without any restrictions.
.Ufa Airport was the first among regional airports in Russia to receive a certificate of compliance with the highest international safety standards ISAGO (IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations).
.At night, flights are relatively few. The first rush hour at the airport is in the morning: a high load is connected with Moscow and Black Sea flights (Sochi, Anapa, Simferopol). The second - after lunch, when these flights are added to these popular destinations. The third main peak segment is the night (Moscow, shift and international flights).
.The terminal consists of two terminals. International is located in the new building, put into operation in 2015. The reconstruction of the terminal of domestic airlines is planned to be completed in 2019 - to the 100th anniversary of the republic.
.Now the terminal of internal lines looks like this. Its area is 12,600 square meters, and capacity - 600 people per hour.
.In order not to stand in line, passengers with electronic tickets can use self-check-in counters.
.Part of the passenger traffic consists of shift workers who fly to work in the northern cities - Surgut, Kogalym, New Urengoy.
.The route network of the Ufa airport has more than 70 destinations, including 33 largest cities in Russia.

.In 2015, the terminal of international airlines in preparation for the summits of the SCO and BRICS in Ufa was modernized in accordance with international standards.
.The new terminal has become lighter and more spacious. The interior design used shades of gray and orange, as well as elements of the Bashkir ornament. After modernization, the capacity increased from 200 to 800 passengers per hour.
.The bulk of the traffic in the international terminal accounts for flights to warm countries.
.It has a modern baggage screening system, and its design takes only 20 minutes.
.The international terminal serves part of domestic Russian traffic while a new terminal building is under construction, which is scheduled to be completed by 2019.
.At the same time, passengers on domestic and international airlines do not intersect. Separate inspection zones and waiting rooms in the “sterile zone” are organized for them.
.Partial transfer of domestic flights made it possible to evenly distribute the load between the terminals and improve the quality of passenger service.
.After the completion of a large-scale reconstruction of the first terminal, its capacity will increase from 600 to 1,200 passengers per hour.
.Aircraft parking. In the foreground, the Sukhoi Superjet 100 is a short-haul passenger aircraft designed to carry 98 passengers at a distance of up to 4,600 km. Behind it are the first passenger aircraft with turbofan engines - the Yak-42.
.An apron service technician using light-signal wands helps the aircraft to get to the parking lot. After stopping the aircraft to the landing gear are installed pads and safety cones.
.Then, the airport ground services staff begin servicing the aircraft. As a rule, the whole complex of works takes from 40 minutes to 1.5 hours.
After unloading the baggage, workers prepare for refueling with aviation fuel. The decision on how much fuel you need to fill in the tanks, the pilots of the aircraft take together.
.Depending on the size of the tank, the tanker can hold up to 60 thousand liters of kerosene. For example, the volume of tanks of the SSJ100 aircraft is slightly less than 16 thousand liters, while the Boeing 777 has about 170 thousand.
.On the fuel neck of the aircraft are installed check valves, which open only when pressure is applied, so the kerosene does not pour out. The worker who is at the tanker, you only need to monitor the readings of the sensors.
.The representative of the catering company loads in-flight catering to the aircraft.
.After loading carts with food, the aircraft continues to be prepared for flight. Then water is poured into it, and then it is loaded with luggage.
.At the airport there is a dog service. From the very birth, these dogs are taught to look for drugs, explosives and other prohibited substances in baggage, cargo and transport at the airport and in the surrounding area.
.40 minutes before the departure of the aircraft, the boarding of passengers for the flight is announced.
.Passengers are brought in for boarding in two ways, which depend on the parking place. This may be the teletrap that leads directly to the plane from the airport building or a bus that pulls up to the ramp.
.Recent manipulations before takeoff. In this photo, the doors are in the Armed position, and a special machine begins to tow the plane to the place where the engine is started.
.After towing and starting the engine, the crew can steer on their own.
.The pilot requests permission from the dispatcher to take off.
.Takeoff runway. The speed at which the aircraft leaves the ground depends on the model, the degree of loading and the wind.
.The speed of separation from the runway of the huge cargo Boeing 747 is 270 km / h. Boeing 737 comes off a little slower - at a speed of 220 km / h.
.Passengers arriving in Ufa, from afar notice the huge luminous inscriptions.
.Since 2013, Ufa Airport regularly holds spottings. Guests, the list of which is approved in advance, can go to the runway, meet arriving flights and take pictures of planes near.
