The Germans and the police were cut and stabbed like pigs

The Germans and the police were cut and stabbed like pigs.

“On June 26, at about five o'clock in the evening, near the village of Novaya Mouse, on the western outskirts of Baranavich, our 297th artillery regiment received the first battle with enemy tanks. I was very contused, lasted until dark.
And when it became clear that there would be no continuation, we literally fell off our feet, and immediately fell asleep. At dawn, they approached the downed German tanks to remove light weapons. In the tanks discovered boxes of chocolate. Chocolate helped us rejuvenate.

At about nine in the morning the Germans tried to surround us. Having picked up the surviving weapons, we retreated in the direction of Bobruisk. During the crossing of the river, the Berezina were ambushed. The German machine gunner, entrenched in the bushes on the opposite bank, slaughtered all our horses.
And although we overcame the Germans, we still had to turn back. But again they were surrounded, and came under fire from artillery and mortars. We left the encirclement, and the regiment commander ordered us to break up into small groups and cross the front line.
With several soldiers I went first to Rechitsa. But, approaching her, we learned that there were already Germans. We are divided into two groups. One group had to break through the front line, the other - to contact the partisans.
In the village of Berezovka, I went to see my sister, Anna, who lived there with her family. Through her, I was able to contact the partisans and join the group N. B. Khrapko, who grew up in a partisan unit six months later. Soon my cousins Mikhail Pavlovich (18 years old) and Vladimir Pavlovich (15 years old) also came to the detachment.
Not far away, in the village of Zgoda, was my mother. Once I ran to her, and, leaving, warned me not to tell anyone that a partisan son had come. However, the mother let it slip (it was difficult for her not to share the joy that her son was alive), and the police, at someone’s prompting, arrested her. Soon she was shot in Glussk. Two months later, the elder brother Vasily was shot in Bobruisk together with his wife.

The blockade of our unit by the nazis on a small island in the middle of a swamp is especially memorable for me. The environment was completed in the evening, and the Nazis intended to shoot us in the morning with mortars. But at night, along the invisible gati, the granddaughter of a local forester came to us and led the whole detachment out of the encirclement. In the morning the Germans destroyed only our wagon train that we left on the island with massive fire.
Another time, after exhausting fights, our weary squad settled down to rest in one of the villages. At night, the Nazis secretly approached the village; but the watchful watchman - Azeri Gadimov - discovered them, and lifted us all with shots. Germans, we then heavily battered.
There were partisans and fatal mistakes. So, once, moving in the forest without compulsory military guard, one of the units of our partisan brigade ran into an ambush of the Germans. As a result, 81 guerrillas died in minutes.
I remember how then, in partisan everyday life, at times it seemed to me that there was never a peaceful life. I have never been injured. Only the floors of my overcoat were stitched in a machine gun burst, and a bullet stuck in the heel of a boot. Not orders and medals, but life I consider my highest award.

Fighters squad them. S.M. Kirov 37th brigade.

You can somehow understand the detachment commander when he orders to shoot captured German thugs or their henchmen - policemen and "volunteers" after the battle - and then he recovers: "But there are no cartridges on them. Stabbing!" ... and pinned up.
There was a case when one partisan stabbed four policemen who were sentenced to death one after the other. Policemen were brought to the camp after the defeat of the garrison in Stasevka. Several people immediately got a weapon and went into our ranks - they were there, in the police, on the instructions of the detachment command.
A few people were allowed to go home - it was proved that they were not on their own will in the police, and even their age (too young or too old) - mitigates the punishment. With the rest of the conversation is short.
It is a squad. On the contrary - five policemen. The detachment commander orders to shoot them, but he recovers right away: - We don’t have such cartridges on them. Maybe we kill them? Who will finish? Silence broke fighter Seleznev: - I! I will cum them!
He has old scores with policemen. He orders the policeman to go to bed. And with four blows of the bayonet, attached to the rifle, he kills him. Then he did the same with the other four policemen. And as Seleznev himself later recounted, “until he finished the second, the third and fourth were already“ ready to do it themselves. ”
And there was a case of reverse properties. When, instead of "stabbing," the partisan shot the condemned man - a former childhood friend - at his own request.

In March 1943, the partisans managed to seize a whole hostel of policemen. Guarded by the guard, they were led in front of the partisan convoy. Until dawn, the wagon train moved calmly, and at dawn enemy aircraft began to accompany it ... They bombed the forest and the field throughout the day. So that the policemen did not run away, they were locked in a shed in one of the villages through which they were passing during the bombing.
And here the head of the guard dawned on the thought: let them, the policemen, finish themselves! It was said: "You are twenty-two - this is a lot! Then we will drive only half. Now, with these logs, decide who will live and who won't." And they listened through the walls, how it all happened inside, and then they went in ... and shot down the "winners."
In June 1943, an SS unit arrived to the Bobruisk sanatorium from the Leningrad front to rest. After learning from the local bosses that the partisans were harassing them, the guests accused these bosses of inaction and cowardice, and said they could give a lesson in the fight against the "bandits."
We conducted a thorough reconnaissance of the area and, with the assistance of the mother of one of the policemen, established the location and placement of the camp of the partisan detachment.
Early in the morning of June 30, 1943about 200 SS with a large group of police officers under the command of Chief Lieutenant - a knight of two iron crosses - approached the camp of the partisans .....
The battle lasted all day with varying success. And the ammunition from the partisans is running out. The enemy began to crowd, came almost close to the base. Losing a base, food means losing everything. In addition, the commissioner of the Hunger squad could have run into an ambush of the Germans, returning from the task to the squad with the group, and then even greater losses could not be avoided.

In general, the situation was very complicated. There was no way out. And then the chief of staff, Syrokvashin with a group of partisans, made his way to the Germans in the rear and opened heavy fire, and immediately brought two tankettes into the battle (artillery tractors).
Ahead, through the bushes, scribbling machine guns, cars jumped out. True, take one and stall ... SS men yell: "Rus, give up!". And the car started up and burst into machine-gun barking.
You should have seen the confusion of the Nazis! The panic was indescribable: the partisans - tanks! The appearance of tankety turned the tide of battle. The Germans ran in small groups in the woods ...
Only on the fifth day, the surviving "warriors" were able to gather in the Bobruisk sanatorium.Residents of the village of Ignorance, near which the battles took place, the Germans ordered to find the corpses of the killed "heroes" - otherwise they would destroy the entire village! And 42 coffins with SS men who had fallen into oblivion were brought to Bobruisk.
The losses of the detachment are two people, Vladimir Kozhich and Ivan Nikitko are the same sentries, which the Germans took off. Four soldiers, who were captured by the Germans, tied up and thrown onto the cart, were found there, on the cart, alive and unharmed.

It happened on a frosty night at the end of February 1943. The detachment then stood in Zubarevichy. Vladimir Dorogavtsev, political officer of the company on duty in the detachment, and the commander of the guard, platoon commander Alexander Shuev, have just returned to the guardroom after checking the posts. There, on the posts, everything was in order: the sentries were vigilant, the situation was calm; True, the frost burns the face, I will not.
Suddenly Vasily Puzyrev rushes into the guardhouse with a cry: "He ran away!" - Who !? - exclaimed in one voice Dorogavtsev and Shuev. - Kamenev! .. His commander shot ... We dug a hole - bury the dead ... And he was alive! ..And then - ran away!
Upon learning of the emergency, the squad leader jumped up and spoke excitedly: “Everything! We must urgently change the headquarters and, perhaps, the entire squad. Kamenev is a traitor!”
And no further explanations for Dorogavtsev and Shuev followed. It was obvious that the decision to shoot was made right here at headquarters, and more recently, perhaps two hours ago.

Three days after the shooting, on the 2nd of March, in the village of Usterkhi, a “shot” group was found by a squad of Matvey Sesika (“the Mitka squad”). He told Matvey Petrovich about his tragedy. He accepted Ivan into his squadron, because someone, and Kamenev, a platoon commander from a neighboring squad who had been in many alterations and lowered five echelons under the slope, was known to all the brigade detachments.
Sezik Kamenev defended before the brigade Konovalov. Ivan really showed himself: in the Sesica detachment, the fighter lowered 2 more enemy echelons and, commanding a platoon, in September 1943 defeated the police garrison in Gorbatsevichi - destroyed 14 and brought 7 troopers to the detachment: 2 light machine guns and 17 rifles .
But not a single award for the war was received by the brave partisan.Although the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus in one document with the name of Kamenev there is a postscript: "Presented to the Order of the Red Star." The fact is that the award lists passed through the brigade commissar, and by that time he was the commander of the detachment who shot Ivan Kamenev.

Exactly three years I participated in the fighting of the partisan detachment at the beginning as a platoon commander, and then as a commissar of the partisan detachment. S.M. Kirov 37th Brigade them. A. Ya. Parkhomenko.
In July 1944, after the liberation of Minsk from the fascists, in the village of Strochitsa, near Minsk, he found his family, his wife, son and daughter. I remember that then I gave myself the word “no longer to part with my family,” that is, to choose for myself such a content of work and such a regime so as not to be separated from the family. However, at first, while the issues of my employment were being resolved, I had to send the family to Zinaida Stepanovna’s parents in the village of Ostroglyady.
Shortly before the final liberation of Belarus, I was sent to Minsk to study at the NKVD school. The prospect of serving in the NKVD did not suit me, and I asked for party and economic courses under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus.
Upon completion of the courses, he refused offers to work: the chairman of the district executive committee, the second secretary of the district committee of the party, the manager of the trust. This, managerial, work did not suit me: it eats a person, especially if the level of his training does not correspond to the degree of complexity of the tasks that have to be solved.

I wanted to work in my specialty - and I agreed to work in the city of Lida as a chief engineer of a small woodworking plant. But it was only a month and a half that I had to work: I was called to the military enlistment office and sent to artillery officers for two-month refresher courses.
At the end of the course they offered to choose a place for further service. I chose the 3rd Belorussian Front, commanded by Chernyakhovsky. As a battery commander, he participated in the Battle of the Curonian Spit near Königsberg.
After the Victory, our division was sent on foot to Grodno. We were there for a month, waiting for the team to further movement. And here in my free time I wrote poems. The mood was upbeat: a hard war was over, my wife and children were waiting for me, a peaceful life.
Then the division was loaded into wagons, and sent to Armavir, where it was disbanded. They wanted to leave me in the frames, but I insisted on being fired. "- from the memoirs of the SM Kirov partisan detachment of the 37th brigade I.I. Tasminsky.
