The cheapest car is fata morgana of any average citizen of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Caucasus and Central Asian countries. In the Baltics, the dream came true - there have already been seen foreign car types there for a long time, and in our latitudes the phenomenon of cars “in Lithuanian numbers” was almost the norm at one time. But is it really impossible to make every car owner have cheap cars for a couple of thousand dollars?
New cheap cars - a myth or the near future?
Indeed, the cheapest cars can theoretically fit into the conventional two-three-month salary of a conditional middle manager. And new cars can cost, for example, as a combination of a good Swiss watch and an advanced smartphone with a case and other accessories to it. That is, up to three thousand dollars. Or Daewoo Matiz is not the worst machine for a housewife: because it will more than replace a shopping bag and even drive from home to a beauty salon (on weekends) or a hypermarket (the main thing is that there is no overload from the husband’s mass and purchases). Or Chinese cars - for some reason, they are much more affordable here than four-wheel products from India.
Cheap Chinese cars - the price matches the quality?
The cheapest cars from China came into our lives with a joke about a peasant who came to the service station on a new Chery Amulet with a request to put him cool fog. And to the master's proposal, “it’s not a question, we can offer a normal hundred-dollar bixenon with an installation,” he replied indignantly: “What do you want me to buy some kind of Chinese slag?”
In the original, of course, the anecdote was less censored, but the point is clear: the first Chinese cars that appeared in Russia and Ukraine (and before that in neighboring North Kazakhstan, for example) were really of poor quality.And on the motor, and on the "hodovke", and kuzovschina. Because collectors saved wherever they could. And where they could not - also saved.

Especially if the price would have been lower not only for Chinese competitors (including Jiangnan Alto - this is, in fact, a minicar Suzuki Alto 15 years ago), but also Indian units on four wheels. That is, in the range of "slightly more than two thousand dollars in the basic configuration" for the money not to buy any Russian "Lada",neither Ukrainian Daewoo Sens, nor even the licensed Ukrainian-Russian VAZ-2107 from the Bogdan plant (if there are any else somewhere, of course).
Indian cars - a breakthrough for the poor?
The cheapest cars until recently (among new) were made in India. And so far, in principle, there are no prerequisites for them to give the palm to someone. It's simple: the market is huge, the country is huge and not rich, and if Ambassadors have been there for over fifty years, then for Tata Nano, a potential $ 2,000 hit, you probably would have found your market segment.

In 2015, the price of Tata Nano rose to almost three thousand dollars. And on the intra-Indian market, a powerful competitor has emerged - Bajaj Qute, which is even cheaper! It does not matter that the cheapest car is a quad bike with a roof and a back sofa, which in principle cannot be stopped for speeding. It is important that the machine turned out prettier and more accessible. If she had still come out seven years earlier - it is possible that the world would not have heard about Tata Nano either. And grateful Indian state employees would not make hundred thousandth orders (later this popularity declined - when it came to disappointment in the product), but accumulated blood rupees for a cozy Qute.
The cheapest cars - aftermarket, loan or leasing
The cheapest cars, like potatoes, carrots or cabbage, should be watched in the market. And it does not matter, on the real autobazar or to look for a suitable option on the Internet - luck can smile both there and there. As well as failure. But in this case, it is better to immediately take along a friend, an auto mechanic. Because, as practice shows, if you take a car for two thousand dollars, then it is desirable to invest at least half of this amount in its repair and fine-tuning for yourself.
Cheapest carsin the secondary market - late Soviet, Russian or Ukrainian. Or old foreign cars on the Baltic numbers: Ford Escort, Opel Vectra, Mitsubishi Galant and something similar. In Russia, this may be the “Oka” of a new generation (and the concepts have already been done!) - a compact urban hatchback on nodes and aggregates from Togliatti.
