Bat blood treats blindness
The tropical, swampy environment along the Nile River has created all sorts of conditions for diseases related to the organ of vision to become a common problem for the ancient Egyptians. They had to come up with a kind of treatment to fight this problem and one of them was to drip the blood of the bat right into the eyes.
In fact, the logic of such treatment is not quite insane. The Egyptians thought that the bats flew at night and, therefore, they have excellent vision, and their blood may have magical powers to restore sight.

Cannibalism cures all diseases.
It seems disgusting and shocking, but in the Renaissance in Europe, human flesh for diseases such as epilepsy, nausea and the common cold was used as a medicine. Many people, including members of royal families and even priests, ate human flesh and wiped themselves with fat. Some even made delicious jam from human blood. Another was too lazy to cook something from the blood and instead they drank it like good wine. In the 16th and 17th centuries, treatment consisting of human blood and flesh became as popular as herbal medicines.
Probably, cannibalism in Europe was introduced by the ancient Greeks and Romans. The Greeks, who adhered to Galen's medicine, believed that the diseases were caused by an imbalance in the body, and the only way to restore it if the patient ate healthy parts of the body. Meanwhile, the Romans tended to drink human blood to treat epilepsy. They believed that premature death leaves unused energy and life in the body, which can be taken by drinking blood.
This method has existed for a long time, but in the XVIII century, most people finally stopped calling cannibalism “medicine”.
Hysteria in women
The belief about the wandering uterus came from the ancient Greeks, who believed that she was moving through the female body, fleeing bad smells following the pleasant aromas. It was also thought that overwork and sexual abstinence promotes the movement of the uterus.
Wandering the uterus through the body caused physical and emotional problems in women, which were taken under the same name term, which is “hysteria”. Symptoms of hysteria are lethargy, headaches, dizziness, choking and heartburn. Even in spite of the fact that men had similar symptoms, ancestors never considered that their genitals were to blame.
There were three ways to solve this problem: the first way was to lure her back "home" using vaginal candles with a pleasant smell or you need to eat something nasty (sometimes ate feces) or just get pregnant.

The theory was that the world consists of 4 elements (earth, air, water and fire) also had 4 states of the human body (cold, dry,wet and hot). Men believed that the dry and warm condition of the body, helped the male genital body to grow in length. However, women had a cold and wet state of the body, similar to a swamp and therefore could not have a male sexual organ under such conditions.
Web helps to get rid of malaria
A few hundred years ago, malaria was a fatal diagnosis in which the mortality rate increased, and no one knew anything about the medicine. Before they began to use quinine and modern medicines, people decided that the treatment against yellow fever was hidden in the use of the so-called silky protein, which is located in the belly of a spider.
Of course, the ancestors did not just sit and use the web. Instead, they mixed it with pills. The Italians had their own special medicine against malaria, which was strange and ineffective: they carried a walnut spider with it.
However, after quinine was brought to Europe in the 1600s, the method of treating spiderwebs became ineffective.
