How to wash dirty towels for the kitchen?
It is much easier to maintain care if your kitchen towels rub off regularly and you don’t allow them to accumulate grease or dirt. To do this, you can use the usual machine-gun.
If your towels are not very dirty, you do not need to soak them - just enough to dip into the water before putting them in the machine. After the process is complete, hang them up to dry in a sunny place and leave them for 2-3 hours after the last moisture has evaporated - this measure will allow destroying up to 90% of the remaining microorganisms.
If you do not have an automatic washing machine, or it is constantly busy with clothes, use the recipe that was invented several centuries ago by the Japanese:
- type a bucket of warm water (about 60 degrees);
- pour into it two tablespoons of sunflower oil, a spoonful of vinegar and pour out a glass of mustard powder;
- put your kitchen towels in a similar solution, making sure that they are not crumpled, and cover with a lid;
- after 10-12 hours, drain the solution and rinse the kitchen utensils four times, alternately changing hot and cold water.
Carefully rub it in and leave it in this position for 1-2 hours, after which household chemicals will need to be washed off. To guarantee the surface can also be sprinkled with detergent.
Unfortunately, to wipe off stains and fat in a fast way is not always obtained. In this case, you will need to prepare for the fact that the kitchen towel will require a lot of time to clean. However, this method has a plus - after it it will be much easier to maintain cleanliness. If your accessories are very dirty and covered with dark spots, leave them for one to two hours in salt water (about 2 tablespoons per liter is better to use). After soaking, wash kitchen towels, and, if necessary, repeat another 1-2 times.
In addition, if you ask a question about how to wash kitchen towels, you can use a universal bleach or disinfectant (Domestos works well). It is best not to keep them in this solution for more than an hour, otherwise the fabric may begin to creep away. After that, rinse the towels and start washing with any convenient method. If they are very dirty, the procedure can be repeated, but only once, otherwise caustic chemicals will destroy your kitchen utensils.
Also, it is possible to wash out old stains with a very unpleasant odor, if you add detergent and 100 grams of soda during soaking. After you have carried out such training, it is necessary to wash the fabric at a temperature of 40-50 degrees.
If the situation is very bad and no soaking helps to get rid of the old fat that the towels are soaked through, you can try the last resort. It is likely that it can destroy the fabric, but with luck, you will still return your favorite towel safe and sound.
In order to wash this kitchenware, divide them into white and color - they will need to be processed separately. Type in a metal bucket two-thirds of boiling water, pour in half a glass of sunflower oil, pour a glass of powder and two tablespoons of dry bleach. Carefully place greasy kitchen towels in the solution and leave them there until they cool down completely.
Wash them after that is not necessary - just rinse and dry in the sun. If you do not really like active household chemicals, bleach can be replaced with half a glass of vinegar, which also removes stains well. Another variation of the use of such a recipe is the combination of oxygen bleach, olive oil and vinegar in the proportions described above - the components are quite expensive, but they are much more careful with fabrics and you can even wash old towels with them.
