Happy Birthday to You

Happy Birthday to You !!!

April 24, 2017

Her Majesty turned 91 on April 21! In honor of this event I dedicate a selection (mostly black and white) of retro-photographs of Elizabeth II,
In Britain, the 91st birthday of Queen Elizabeth II was celebrated on Friday. On the occasion of the celebration at Buckingham Palace, the Irish Guard Orchestra performed the composition “Happy Birthday”. In addition, in honor of the holiday on the territory of London's Hyde Park, near Windsor Castle and the Tower there was a cannon salute. As for the queen herself, she traditionally celebrates her birthday at home. Despite the venerable age, Elizabeth continues to perform her official duties, although some of them transferred to other members of the Windsor family — the son of Prince Charles and grandchildren, Princes William and Harry.

April 21, 1926 was born the eldest daughter of Prince Albert, Duke of York (future King George V) and Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, Princess Elizabeth Alexander Maria. Today, the whole world knows her as Elizabeth II, Queen of Great Britain. Ascended to the throne in 1952, today Elizabeth is the longest-running monarch in the entire history of Great Britain. It is difficult, it is simply impossible to believe, looking at her children's photos, that today this girl is already 91 years old!
