For many Muscovites, Aeroexpress has become as usual a mode of transport as the same metro. Personally, in 90% of cases I choose AE to travel to or from the airport, preferring a taxi to my own car. But sitting in the chair “Stadler” or ED4, few people think about how everything works there, inside. Well, the train is going to itself and it is going, so that, as usual, it has come on schedule. Meanwhile, the train is like the same car: it needs to be serviced, washed, changed wheels, repaired ... Who, where and how does it do?

And meanwhile, the train is just a car for you, you cannot drive it just to a service or tire service somewhere along the way. On the railway, everything is completely different and ... the options, it turns out, quite a bit in terms of train maintenance. So if you are thinking of buying your own train for yourself, buy for it immediately both the garage for the service and the specialists.

Today, all private railway operators in Russia in one way or another use the services of Russian Railways in terms of servicing their rolling stock.Until 2012, this was the case with Aeroexpress as well, until the company decided to create its own depot, which allows it to perform the whole range of work with trains.

Near the Belarusian station were rented space in the Locomotive depot them. Ilyich and on their basis a separate division “Depot” of the Aeroexpress company was created. Today its area is 56 thousand square meters. m., including the road, and the total area of ​​leased workshops - 13 thousand square meters. m. The total investment amounted to more than 1.2 billion rubles.

3. It is here, at the depot near the Belorussky railway station, that all Aeroexpress electric trains operating in Moscow, as well as trains of another operator, OJSC TsPPK, serve.

As I have already said, Aeroexpress depot carries out a full range of train maintenance services, starting with the preparations for the first release to the line after receiving the manufacturer from the plant.

All ED4 trains went from here, and Stadler double-decker trains operating from Domodedovo and Vnukovo directions also traveled from here.

Inside the depot it resembles a huge box service station: the same pit for inspection from below, the same lifts, only of completely different sizes and for a different weight, because with their help you have to lift not several tons, but whole cars.By the way, if necessary, several coupled cars can be lifted up at once in the depot simultaneously, which is very important for double-deck Stadler trains so as not to waste time on disconnecting.

5. You will be surprised when you find out how often each of the 18 Aeroexpress trains is in this depot. It is never empty and one or several paths are constantly occupied here. And the reason is not in the breakdowns, but in the strict rules of train maintenance.

6. TO-1 each train passes once a day! It includes replacement of water, cleaning of toilet tanks and hourly technical inspection by the locomotive brigade.
TO-2 conducts maintenance personnel and locomotive crew every 48 hours.

TO-3 - once every 6 days; a train in a ditch costs 4 hours; an inspection and necessary minor repairs are carried out. TO-4 includes TO-3 + wheelset turning as necessary.

8. But these are only technical inspections! There are technical repairs, similar to the periodic maintenance for cars. TR-1 is carried out once a month, it includes diagnostics of all systems and wheel-gear unit.

TP-2 is held once a year and a half, includes an audit of wheelsets, couplings, protection devices, compressors, current collectors.

9. At trains, as well as at cars, change wheels from time to time.Only not rubber, but whole wheel sets. It happens as follows: the car (and sometimes the train as a whole) is lifted on powerful lifts and then replaced.

10. By the way, this process is quite fast. For example, replacing one trolley on a two-story Stadler takes only about an hour, on ED4 and even faster.

11. By the way, the wheels on the trains not only change, but they also grind. This is due to the fact that due to the tight contact of the metal of the wheel with the metal of the rail, as well as the significant weight of the car, the inner part of the wheel is produced quite quickly, which leads to less stability of the car on the railway.

Depo Aeroexpress has its own automatic wheel turning machines, which allows the company to save considerable time and money on this rather frequent operation.

14. If we talk about other most frequent operations during the maintenance of Aeroexpress trains, this is the replacement of elements of current collectors, brake pads and ... repair / replacement of glasses that periodically break vandals.

16. In addition to maintenance work, cars are also regularly washed at the depot. Agree, we rarely see dirty Aeroexpress trains on the line, except in the offseason, when wet dirty dust hangs in Moscow even in the air.
